The Office of Youth and Women of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), together with its World Food Forum (WFF) Global Youth Action Initiative (Youth Initiative), is pleased to invite you to the side event “From Learning to Leading: Youth Perspectives on Empowering Young Women in Agrifood Systems through Education and Training.”
This event, organized with the support of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations and the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations, will take place during the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York.
Grounded in Priority Area B of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, this youth-led event will highlight the role of education and training in advancing gender equality and economic empowerment for young women in agrifood systems. The panel will feature youth representatives from leading youth-led organizations, including WFF’s Youth Initiative, UNESCO SDG4 Youth and Students Network, and the Major Group for Children and Youth.
The side event will also include a moderated open-floor discussion on youth advocacy and how the SDGs can be leveraged to empower young women. If you wish to speak during this discussion, please inform us in advance.
